‘Nice information’: Govt pledges extra funding in the direction of rural medical practices
Royal Australian School of GPs Vice President Dr Bruce Willett says the majority billing incentive is “nice information”, as the federal government pledges extra funding in the direction of rural medical practices and GPs.
“It’s a begin … and it’s tough to think about they’re going to show round many years of neglect in a single funds,” he advised Sky Information Australia.
“It should want further funding for rural practices as a result of the majority billing incentive is loaded extra in the direction of rural practices, in order that’s nice information.
“It should take somewhat little bit of time … by way of extra GPs to rural areas … and we’re hoping for extra funding in future budgets … that is definitely not off course.”
