Jamie Lee Curtis despatched an entire lot of unconditional like to her transgender daughter, Ruby, on Trans Visibility Day. “Love is love. A mom’s love is aware of no judgment,” the 64-year-old Oscar winner captioned a March 31 Instagram picture that confirmed her laughing together with her 27-year-old daughter. “As a mom, I stand in complete solidarity with my kids as they transfer ahead within the universe as their genuine selves with their very own minds and our bodies and concepts. On this trans visibility day my daughter and I are seen #transvisibilityday.”

Ruby is one among two adopted daughters the Knives Out star shares together with her husband of 39 years, Christopher Visitor. Additionally they share a 36-year-old daughter named Annie, who they adopted in 1986. They introduced Ruby into the household a decade later.

With Ruby’s permission, Jamie revealed she and Christopher “watched in marvel and satisfaction” as their son transitioned into their daughter in a July 2021 interview with AARP. Then, in Oct. 2021, the pair sat down for a joint interview to share their experiences amid the brand new journey. ‘It was scary — simply the sheer truth of telling them one thing about me they didn’t know,” Ruby recalled to PEOPLE about popping out to her dad and mom for the primary time. “It was intimidating — however I wasn’t apprehensive. They’d been so accepting of me my complete life.”

“It’s talking a brand new language,” the actress defined. “It’s studying new terminology and phrases. I’m new at it. I’m not somebody who’s pretending to know a lot about it. And I’m going to blow it, I’m going to make errors. I wish to attempt to keep away from making large errors.” Ruby later added that she doesn’t get upset when her dad and mom by accident use the improper pronoun.

Earlier than Trans Visibility Day, Jamie advocated for the trans group by giving her first-ever Oscar trophy they/them pronouns. “In help of my daughter, Ruby. I’m having them be a they/them.
